Couch Talk

I found this weeks ‘couch talk’ with Alex, Moross, Inglis, UsTwo & Lovers to be really interesting, hearing someone discuss business workings in a casual manner makes it seem a lot more ‘real’, it takes the serious edge that you would get from a presentation and allows me to digest the information way easier.

I loved hearing how although each person was from a different practice entirely, they all shared similar ways of working as well as the issues they face. once practice in particular that stood out to me was Studio Moross. Perhaps it was the use of all the different colours, but the work that the Moross studio produce really caught my eye and it’s the type of work I could potentially align myself with. Although most of it is animation and digital branding, I liked the idea of pulling out the patterns and movements they had created into the real world (potentially through sculpture?). I think something really interesting could come from that.

The way they work with their clients seems to create an extremely clear and manageable type of communication – although having just one person act both as a project manager and the editor could come with it’s stresses, I think this is an excellent way to establish a trusting way of working with your client. It will make their experience much more personalised and it also avoids having the original message getting misshapen through the passing on of multiple people. She stated that 80% of her clients are those that she had worked with previously, and I think this is proof that what she’s doing is working and it’s working well.
